Big Sur is arguably one of the most beautiful places not only in California but in the entire US. If you have never been to this place you need to see it! Highway one is a narrow road that winds along the coastline with sweeping views of the Pacific and waves crashing up against the cliffs. It is truly impossible to take a bad picture here! As quiet and serene as it may seem, there are actually quite a few great little places to stop and eat along the way. Rocky Point Restaurant was recently renovated and the food as well as the view are amazing. Further down the coast a place called Nepenthe is another favorite amongst locals and tourists alike.
